The Data & Analytics portfolio at Lakeridge Health oversees the end-to-end journey from data to information including Patient Registration, Chart Management, Coding, Decision Support and Release of Information. Together, this team enables the collection, organization, standardization & protection of key health information to enable internal & provincial analyses related to quality, performance, planning, efficiency, and sustainability. The Analytics team identifies and manages data, develops methodologies, conducts analyses, and delivers reports, dashboards and summaries. The team also provides consultation and interpretation of results to all areas of Lakeridge Health, including all Clinical Services and Programs as well as non-clinical areas such as Human Resources, Quality & Risk, Capital Planning, and Strategy. The team is in high demand and widely recognized for its expertise, quality of work, and invaluable contributions to both the organization's daily operations and long-term planning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Decision Support Consultant leverages strong analytical skills and knowledge of patient-related and hospital utilization data to support evidence-based decision making, to monitor performance against corporate and program-level goals and targets, as well as identify and evaluate trends and potential opportunities for improved health system performance. The Consultant supports various hospital clinical programs and the senior management team through the extraction, analysis, interpretation, presentation and dissemination of data-driven insights. This includes extracting data from Epic health information system and other data sources as well as developing and maintaining reporting content within Epic using tools such as Radar Dashboards, Report Workbench and SlicerDicer.

" Maintain, troubleshoot, investigate, and develop reporting products and tools.
" Support client needs by building or modifying existing content to meet their requirements.
" Design and develop dashboards, reports, metrics in Epic & Power BI reporting systems.
" Extract data from SQL databases, both Epic (Clarity & Caboodle) and non-Epic sources.
" Create, maintain, and enhance documentation on reporting solutions and processes.
" Apply data governance principles to all reporting and data assets.
" Attend meetings, courses, and workshops as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

" Bachelor-level degree in an area of Science, Health Informatics, or similar degree is required; a master's degree or higher-level education is considered an asset.
" 3 years of progressive experience working in data or analytics services or equivalent role, or combination of experience and graduate-level education.
" Knowledge and experience with Epic health information system and its reporting modules (Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle) is preferred. Active certification in these modules or ability to achieve certification is required.
" Working knowledge of Wait Time Information System (WTIS) and national/provincial datasets (e.g. DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OMHRS, etc.).
" Knowledge and experience with analytic tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Power BI, SQL, IntelliHealth, and Excel.
" Advanced expertise in data science techniques (e.g. machine learning, predictive analytics, NLP, etc.) is a strong asset.
" Proven ability to manipulate and analyze data using various software tools and to present complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
" Strong aptitude for analysis, interpretation and attention to detail.
" Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
" Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
" Demonstrated creativity and latitude in problem solving. This includes the ability to prioritize and execute multiple competing tasks.
