OPSEUJob Title: Occupational TherapistStatus: Regular Part TimeDepartment: Occupational Therapy ISUProgram: Medicine8 Hour Shifts - Days & Weekends (Subject to Change)Location: Lakeridge Health OshawaWage Schedule: $40.360 - $56.300 per hourPosting Reference: 2500002449DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for patient assessment and the development of treatment plans, with emphasis on optimizing return to function. Actively participating in team conferences and regular team meetings. Other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:* M.Sc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent;* Registration (in good standing) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario;* Certified/licenced to practice in Ontario;* Previous experience working with patients who have suffered a stroke or who have neurological disorders preferred;* Familiarity with wheelchair prescription and splinting preferred;* Effective verbal and written communication skills;* Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and problem solving skills;* Ability to work well in an multi-disciplinary team;* Ability to exercise initiative and observe strict confidentiality;* Membership in CAOT, OSOT;* ADP authorization for Mobility/seating/wheelchair is preferred;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Must have a satisfactory performance record; and* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this areaCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) .
