Clinical Education LeaderAddiction Community TreatmentMental Health & AddictionsTemporary Full Time (18 months)Days - 8 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)Lakeridge Health Pinewood CentreSalary $49.490 - $67.130 per hourVacancy - 2400001199Description:Reporting to the Senior Director, Mental Health and Addictions, the Clinical Education Leader (CEL) for Pinewood Centre and Outpatient Mental Health is responsible for providing clinical education and leadership support within the program. The CEL will encourage, promote and facilitate continuous learning for staff to ensure continuous improvement in clinical practice. The CEL works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team to support education and training for staff, and be a resource for LH corporate initiatives related to mental health and substance use.Duties and Responsibilities:*Assess and address both the current and anticipated education needs of staff;*Support the orientation of new staff and act as a resource to the Program;*Evaluate the impact of education on client care and other relevant outcomes;*Advocate for, and participate in, the development and maintenance of a workplace that supports staff in the performance of their roles, ensuring best practices and supporting lifelong learning;* Collaborate with Managers in the development and ongoing evaluation of policies, procedures, standards and directives;* As required, participate in staff performance evaluations through regular collaboration with the Manager;* Work in conjunction with program managers to facilitate an appropriate learning environment; monitor performance and take appropriate remedial action when required;*Lead the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based client education programs related to a range of mental health and addiction treatment modalities. *Collaborate with internal or external parties, as appropriate, to assess, develop, implement and evaluate public education programs;*Collaborate with the Lakeridge Clinical Practice Leaders on corporate initiatives.QUALIFICATIONS:*Registration with a professional college (ex. OCSWSSW);*Bachelor's degree in a related field from a recognized university; Master's degree is preferred*Certification in non-violent crisis intervention training;*Demonstrated recent clinical experience, minimum, three years, in the mental health and/or substance use field*Excellent client assessment skills and theoretical knowledge base for utilization in patient focused program decision making*Experience with program development*Proven knowledge of the principles of adult education*Excellent presentation skills as demonstrated and endorsed by past experience*Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)*Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office*Evidence of continuing education in clinical specialty*Current B.C.L.S Heart and Stroke Foundation Standards*Ability to travel throughout Durham Region.*Must have satisfactory performance record;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;*Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Lakeridge Health thanks all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
