We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced leader with vision, initiative, and strategic thinking to join the Lakeridge Health Team as Director, General Medicine. POSITION SUMMARY:Co-leading one of the largest programs at Lakeridge Health and reporting to the Health System Executive - Clinical, the Director, General Medicine is responsible for all general in-patient medicine services across our five hospital sites as well as a number of ambulatory care clinics. As a visionary leader, the Director will inspire and achieve results by focusing on implementation of initiatives that are aligned with the Hospital's strategic plan and annual business plan. The Director of General Medicine will focus on providing equitable care in a strong quality framework that includes monitoring key performance indicators and sustaining a daily quality management system. Using a collaborative team approach within the program and in partnerships with the community, the Director will ensure our patients return home as soon as possible with maximum independence. KEY RESPONSIBILITES:" Translate Lakeridge Health's strategic directions and priorities into program-specific goals and objectives that enable the Program to meet and exceed evidence based, best practice standards and regulatory requirements." Develop and implement new, innovative or expanded programs and services, including development of business plans in alignment with the priorities and plans of Lakeridge Health." Foster an environment that enables the Medicine Program to meet and exceed the expectations of patients, their families and communities we serve and advance care in the acute setting." Develop and lead the implementation and monitoring of strategies aligned with leading practices in the management of Alternative Levels of Care (ALC) and optimized bed capacity and utilization." Build team cohesion by leading change management and disseminating and promoting an understanding of the mission, vision and values of Lakeridge Health. Establish and maintain external and internal partnerships to support communication and involvement of key stakeholders in program development considerations." Develop the Program's strategic human resources plan including short and long term needs and succession planning and promote the development of leadership skills and capabilities within the Medicine Program." Partner with the Chief and Medical Director and various Physician Leaders, including to enhance services, and foster a culture of high engagement, cohesiveness, and efficiency." Take a lead role in creating a culture of safety, equity, quality and service in alignment with Lakeridge Health's strategic plan. QUALIFICATIONS:" A Master's Degree in a related discipline;" Registration with the Ontario College of an applicable discipline;" Strong understanding of local and regional health care systems;" A proven track record of fostering a positive relationship with service providers;" Significant related program management experience in acute hospital services, preferably in a multi-site hospital environment;" A proven track record of achieving results that improve the organization and inspire confidence and commitment;" Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and create a high performance culture that facilitates growth and development;" Proven ability to inspire others to work toward common goals by increasingly engaging and empowering them;" Proven ability to critically analyze issues, utilize data to drive decisions;" Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality improvement, change management, evaluation and planning;" Exceptional negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills;" Demonstrated commitment to our LH core values " Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety.
