Best Health., we are committed to delivering the highest standard of care and supporting patients and their families on their care journey with compassion and kindness.Duties and ResponsibilitesAs an integral member of the Strategic Communications team, the Communications Advisor plays a key role in the development and implementation of communications plans that powerfully tell the Lakeridge Health story to external and internal audiences, and advance Lakeridge Health's vision and strategic directions. The Communications Advisor will apply their knowledge of traditional and digital media, current event awareness, project management skills, and advanced written and verbal communications skills to ensure that Lakeridge Health's strategic communications goals are met.Working with a variety of stakeholder groups internally and externally, the Communications Advisor's solid background and skills will enable them to create and execute communications strategies that inform, motivate, engage, and inspire. The Advisor will ensure that Lakeridge Health's brand and reputation are maintained throughout all communications and materials, content is accurate, and projects are on schedule and on budget.In addition, the candidate will support Lakeridge Health's communications through research, writing, presentation development, event planning, engagement activities, and development of content for a variety of platforms, including digital and multimedia. In this fast-paced environment, impacted by change on a regular basis, the Communications Advisor must be flexible; able to work independently, as well as in a team setting; meet deadlines; manage complex, competing and multiple priorities; and create alignment in complex settings. " Develop communications plans that are aligned with and in support of Lakeridge Health's strategic plan and annual business plan and manage the delivery of multiple communications projects and initiatives. " Create compelling content that can be shared across all platforms that are tailored to targeted audiences. " Respond to media inquiries, monitor media coverage, cultivate media contacts, pitch stories, develop key messages and press releases, prepare spokespeople, and conduct/distribute daily media scans as required. " Prepare/develop social media content, provide ongoing evaluation and performance-related data related to various campaigns." Prepare/develop digital media content, post updates to the website and intranet, and ensure AODA compliance." Proactively identify issues, work with partners to mitigate risks, establish effective communications responses, including key message development and communications materials, such as briefing notes, memos, presentations, FAQs, statements, and more. " Develop and implement internal communications plans and various materials, including e-bulletins, memos, FAQs, briefing notes, presentations, etc. " Support and maintain relationships with key community partners and engage with patient and family representatives throughout the hospital." Support the Lakeridge Health brand by upholding visual identity and brand and communication guidelines and uphold the organization's reputation through strong proactive and reactive communications approaches. " Assist with event planning, including logistics, creating content, speechwriting, etc." Participate in limited on-call responsibilities after hours and on weekends/holidays. " Other duties as required. Qualifications" Graduate of a post-secondary program in Journalism and/or Public Relations and at least five (5) years of related communications experience." Outstanding written communications skills, including the ability to appropriately tailor messages for identified target audiences. " Excellent proofreading and editing skills." Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills." Strong attention to detail to produce content that is accurate and error-free." Ability to comprehend and translate complex information into plain language for a lay audience." Client-focused with the ability to work with diverse individuals and groups (i.e., front-line staff, physicians, leadership, volunteers, and Foundation teams)." Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information and materials." Proven ability to respond to requests from media, including developing key messages and media materials, identifying and coaching spokespersons, and monitoring and evaluating media coverage." Excellent problem-solving, facilitation, and negotiation skills, including the ability to think strategically and critically." Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish strong and collaborative relationships with internal colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders." Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. " Excellent team player; and able to work independently with direction." Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with creative/media/graphic design applications, such as Adobe suite of products and Canva platform, an asset." Experience working in health care an asset." Ability to travel between sites as required." Exemplary performance and solid attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard."
