DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the incumbent will be will be working as part of a team of payroll professionals. The incumbent will be the first contact that the employees/managers/departments when needing answers to inquiries relating to their pay. All concerns must comply with payroll policies and procedures as well as collective agreements and processed in a timely manner. The incumbent will act as a source of information relating to payroll policies and procedures and will comply with internal and external audit requirements for all sites. The incumbent will be dealing with the prior pay adjustments that come from managers, corrections to errors that may have occurred on an employees pay that needs to be corrected. These corrections are only from the direction of the department manager and or delegate. The incumbent will also be responsible for working through the payroll departments' incoming mail, part of which will be responsible for checking direct deposit banking changes, employment insurance audits. Duties also include completing Record of Employments for those staff that are claiming a shortage of work situation, verification of data entry of new hires, and assisting with bi-weekly payroll exception reports. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:* Post-secondary school diploma in Business or Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required;* Completion of Canadian Payroll Association or evidence working towards Payroll Compliance Practitioner (preferred);* Proven experience assisting Payroll in a fully computerized environment;* 1-3 years of payroll experience* Experience with Meditech payroll software (preferred); * Related experience in a Health Care environment (preferred);* Sound working knowledge of pay calculations including applicable CRA source deductions;* Intermediate level computer skills including experience in MS Word and Excel(tested);* Strong keyboarding skills (tested);* Proven experience working in a fast paced, multi-tasked, deadline driven environment;* Ability to effectively work in a team environment;* Strong attention to detail;* Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal and client service skills;* Demonstrated success in effectively organizing and prioritizing work assignments;* Must have satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and,* Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and the capability of maintaining that same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) .
