LAKERIDGE HEALTH
SCREENER
Status: Temporary Part Time
Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends (Subject to change)
Site: Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Ajax/Pickering, Whitby, Port Perry, Bowmanville
SALARY: $17.74 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
This primary role of the COVID Screener will consist of screening patients, visitors and staff for infectious diseases prior to entry to Lakeridge Health.
* Screening all individuals entering designated Hospital entrance(s) for symptoms, signs and travel based on the provided screening guidelines.
* Redirecting visitors and patients to assessment areas
* Ensuring all visitors entering Lakeridge Health follow proper precautionary measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Completion of a high school diploma;
*Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
*Patient centred individual with strong customer services skills;
*Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a variety of staff, visitors and patients;
*Strong decision making skills
*Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time;
*Demonstrated ability to work independently and with strong conflict management skills;
*Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (mask, gloves, gown);
*Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays;
*Secondary language is an asset;

*Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular inservice education in this area;
*Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard;
