Non-UnionLAKERIDGE HEALTHSENIOR BUSINESS ADVISORBUSINESS ANALYTICSREGULAR FULL TIME Days - 8 hours (subject to change)Lakeridge Health CorporateSALARY - $40.809 to $51.004 per hourUN-EX 2000002445DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Manager, Financial Analytics & Business Support, the Senior Business Advisor works with all levels of healthcare management, including members of our senior team, to evaluate financial and clinical performance, formulate improvement strategies, and generate decision support insights that will inform strategic decision-making across all programs and services. The successful candidate will form a strong partnership with an assigned portfolio; and will become a subject-matter expert for this portfolio from the perspective of data and analyses needed to inform operations. The Senior Business Advisor understands the strategic & operational objectives of their respective portfolio, including the connection between the portfolio's budget, revenues, expenses, and key performance indicators (including population health, experience of care, team wellness & sustainability measures). As a main point of contact & synthesis, the Advisor liaises with partners in Financial Performance, Decision Support (Analytics & BI), Coding, Analytics Governance & Human Resources in support of & on behalf of their portfolio.Achievement of objectives in this role are realized through the subject matter expertise & relationships that are developed between the Advisor and their portfolio leadership team. Understanding priorities of their portfolio, key performance indicators, quality initiatives as well as the relationship to budget, expenses and revenues, the Advisor is a part of a broader team of Advisors that collectively create a comprehensive picture of organizational performance.QUALIFICATIONS: *University degree in business/health administration, commerce, engineering or a related discipline;*A graduate degree in one of the aforementioned disciplines and/or a financial designation (i.e. CPA) considered an asset;*Minimum of three to five years of experience with financial or clinical data and analysis in a healthcare setting is required, or an equivalent combination of graduate education and experience;*Experience providing data and analytics advisory supports, including interpretation & strategic guidance*Experience working in a customer-service or consulting model, with demonstrated experience identifying opportunities & challenges for clients;*Knowledge and understanding of the use of financial and activity-based data in a healthcare setting;*Familiarity with general ledger, case costing systems, and the impact of coding (i.e. DAD, NACRS, WTIS) on financial and quality measures;*Familiarity with provincially and nationally reported quality measures, including data sources and benchmarks (i.e. length of stay, readmissions, mortality, rate of falls, pressure wounds, etc.), and their relationship to financial performance and/or improvement projects;*Experience working with analysis tools, e.g. CIHI, MIS and other Ministry tools*Experience in the preparation of technical reports, briefing notes, balanced scorecards and presentations of findings;*Experience identifying, planning, operationalizing and/or evaluating the implementation of new performance improvement strategies;*Demonstrated ability to work with an inter-disciplinary or multi-professional team to achieve results; *Well-developed organizational and analytical skills and proven ability to collaborate with other professional and technical departments, medical departments, programs and services;*Demonstrating initiative in the identification of new solutions to old problems and engaging colleagues;*Highly developed computer skills including significant experience with spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools;*Excellent verbal and written communication skills;*Responsive to time-sensitive data requests and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area;CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
