CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CLERKFINANCEREGULAR PART TIME8 HOUR DAY SHIFTS; subject to changeLakeridge Health Corporate & Oshawa (Successful applicant will be expected to travel to other LH sites as required) SALARY: $29.00 - $30.63 per hourCUPE- 2000002051 (Subsequent)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for maximizing revenue by reviewing inpatient /outpatient accounts to ensure that Lakeridge Health has all required billing information. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will perform day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording AR data. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will ensure that signed accommodation forms are obtained, and in co-ordination with nursing staff on the inpatient floors will arrange to have patients transferred to their requested accommodations in order to maximize preferred accommodation revenue. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will facilitate payment of invoices, by sending bill reminders and contacting patients, ensure proper follow up regarding claims and rejections. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will reconcile the aged trial balance to ensure that all payments, charges and invoices are accounted for and properly posted, process incoming payments from patients, insurance agencies, and other sources in compliance with financial policies and procedures, and prepare daily bank deposits and reconciliation. He/ she will exercise initiative and observe strict confidentiality, and complete other related duties as assigned, Inter-site travel may be required.QUALIFICATIONS:* Community College General Business Accounting Diploma or equivalent; * Two years' recent accounts receivable experience required; * Proven understanding of related accounts receivable activities with working knowledge of the receivable and collection process;* Proven experience with processing payments and balancing the payment reconciliation report;* Previous accounting experience in healthcare is preferred;* Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the use of Intermediate Microsoft Office Word, Excel (tested), Meditech(B/AR), and accurate keyboarding skills of 35 w.p.m (tested);* Proven working knowledge of basic bookkeeping, common finance terms and procedures;* Proven ability to prioritize a high volumes of transactions in a fast paced environment, meeting deadlines and performing a wide range of clerical duties as required;* Proven ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills showing tact, diplomacy, good judgement and empathy in dealing with clients, their families, staff, and agencies;* Proven effective written and verbal communication skills; * Must exercise good judgement in gathering and compiling information and facts;* Demonstrated ability to work independently with many interruptions, and proven flexibility to adapt within the changing healthcare environment; * Proven organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills;* Must have satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area; and* Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
