OPSEUOPSEULAKERIDGE HEALTHOCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTCHILD YOUTH AND FAMILY PROGRAMMENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICITIONSTEMPORARY FULL TIME8 HOUR; DAY/EVENING SHIFTS (Subject to change)LAKERIDGE HEALTH OSHAWASALARY: $39.976 to 46.096 per hourOPSEU-2000001543DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist will conduct patient assessment, contribute to the development of treatment plans and deliver interventions within the psychiatric intensive ambulatory (day program) and out-patient services. Interventions will include group work and individual and family involvement. The Occupational Therapist will document all aspects of patient care and actively participate in patient care meetings. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for maintaining all relevant statistics.QUALIFICATIONS:*M. Sc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent;*Registration (in good standing) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario;*Certified/licenced to practice in Ontario;*Membership in CAOT, OSOT;*Previous experience working with children and adolescents who have serious and persistent mental illnesses on an individual basis as well as in group settings;*Effective verbal and written communication skills;*Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and problem solving skills;*Ability to work well in an multi-disciplinary team;*Ability to exercise initiative and observe strict confidentiality;*Must have satisfactory performance record;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;*Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) .
