CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHLABORATORY SERVICES - HISTOPATHOLOGY SENIOR CLERK-TYPISTTEMPORARY PART-TIME 8 Hour Shifts - Days/Evenings (Subject to change)LAKERIDGE HEALTH OSHAWASALARY: $24.22 - $25.32 per hourCUPE-2000000968DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Senior Clerk-Typist, Laboratory is responsible for office and clerical functions including: answering telephones inquiries and relaying accurate messages; typing correspondence, meeting minutes, laboratory electronic manuals; filing charts, Pathology/Cytology slides/blocks and reports; sending out and distributing mail/patient activity and Pathology reports; documenting, packaging and sending out slides along with scheduling couriers; entering referred-in Pathology specimens; triaging of Clinical Studies; printing OR lists; operating digital whole slide instruments, electronic scanning of documents and upload into Pathology LIS along with other related clerical duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:* Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience;* Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy (tested);* Proven keyboarding skills of 30-40 wpm (tested);* Effective communication and interpersonal skills;* Proven organizational and prioritization skills;* Proficient with Microsoft Office; Word and Excel (tested), Meditech, Community Wide Scheduling and PCI, an asset;* Ability to work well with minimal supervision;* Physically capable of performing the work including reaching, bending, lifting and pulling;* Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;* Must have a satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
