OPSEULAKERIDGE HEALTH EEG TECHNOLOGISTMEDICINE PROGRAMTEMPORARY PART-TIMEDAY SCHEDULE: 4, and 8 hour shifts (subject to change)LAKERIDGE HEALTH AJAX/PICKERING OPSEU-1900002246 This position are open to qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing October 16, 2019 and closing by 11:59 pm on October 23, 2019DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The EEG Technologist plays an essential role in the diagnosis of brain diseases, injury and tumours and is responsible for: performing EEGs and other electrocardiography testing, documenting, equipment monitoring, cleaning and maintenance; and other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:* Registered EEG Technologist with current registration with the Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (C.A.E.T.);* Previous EEG testing experience;* Current BCLS;* Ability to interpret and evaluate clinical data and information;* Proven basic knowledge about the nervous system, the human anatomy and physiology;* Proven ability must be able to work accurately and productively under stress;* Effective interpersonal and communication skills;* Effective keyboarding skills;* Demonstrated computer knowledge of Meditech system; and* Proven good organizational, prioritization and time-management skills;* Knowledge of infection control principles and practices;* Must be physically able to perform duties of lifting, bending, sitting walking and prolonged standing;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions; and* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.* Must have a satisfactory performance record; SALARY: $31.08 - $35.79 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
