OPSEUOPSEULAKERIDGE HEALTHCARDIOPULMONARY TECHNICIAN REGULAR FULL-TIME8 HOUR DAY SHIFTS (subject to change)LAKERIDGE HEALTH OSHAWAOPSEU-1900000642DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:Reporting to Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementation and evaluating patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment.You will be responsible for cardiac testing, documentation, equipment monitoring, cleaning and maintenance.You will also perform pacemaker device interrogations, diagnostic interpretation, and device management. The Cardiac Technician will be responsible for assisting the physician with cardiac stress testing, cardiac rehabilitation exercise prescription, electrocardiography, holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:*Registered Cardiology Technologist, Registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist, or Registered Respiratory Therapist;*Certification with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT), Canadian Association of Cardio-Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT) or College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) in good standing;*Current BCLS/ACLS required annually;*Experience in a Cardiac Diagnostic setting with the following testing modalities: ECG, exercise stress testing, nuclear stress testing, metabolic stress testing, holter application/scanning, pacemaker interrogation and BP monitoring;*Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of arrhythmia recognition and 12 lead interpretation with experience in using holter software and scanning devices to identify and report abnormal segments;*Minimum 1 year experience with comprehensive device management and confidence in interrogation of Pacemaker and ICD is strongly recommended;*Knowledge and ability to operate various industry programmers including Medtronic, Abbott/St.Jude, Biotronic, Boston Scientific, and Sorin;*Additional coronary care certification considered an asset;*Excellent communication (oral, written, telephone) and interpersonal skills with a well-developed customer service focus; dealing effectively with internal customers, physicians, and the community;*Proven ability to work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;*Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;*Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area;*Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record;Salary- $28.85- $33.22CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
