ONALAKERIDGE HEALTH REGISTERED NURSE MEDICAL/SURGICAL UNITMEDICINE PROGRAMREGULAR PART TIMEDays/Evenings/Nights/Weekend Schedule; 12, 8, and 4 hour shifts (subject to change)Lakeridge Health Port Perry ONA-1800002726DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, competent care to assigned patients; using a systematic problem-solving approach to assess the condition and identify the needs of the patient; observing and enforcing aseptic technique and infection control principles required in the prevention of nosocomial and communicable diseases; developing a plan of care for patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:* Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (within good standing and must provide annual registration);* Current BCLS;* Must have Coronary Care I course (Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation) OR be willing to enrol in course within 3 months of commencing position;* Recent related clinical experience in general medicine and surgical care nursing;* Demonstrated wound management and pain management skills;* Knowledgeable regarding the application of health and safety and infection control principles as it applies to the role of RN;* Sound knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the C.N.O.
