Supported by more than 500 staff members, 700 physicians and thousands of volunteers, LH has an annual operating budget of more than $620M.POSITION DESCRIPTION:The Manager Engineering and Infrastructure is an integral member of the Engineering team who works collaboratively with members of all healthcare teams across the organization, to enable LH's strategic objectives while ensuring sustainability and minimizing risk. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Infrastructure and Security, as Manager you will assume a leadership role within Lakeridge Health and will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation of the Hospital physical plant 24/7/365. The Manager will be a coach and mentor and organize staff training and development in order to provide Lakeridge Health with an efficient and innovative facility. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal codes, regulations and standards. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Lakeridge Health buildings, infrastructure and grounds are compliant as well as guarantee effective and safe operation. In collaboration with Capital Planning and Development you will assist in the planning, design, redevelopment and construction process for projects and Heliport to ensure the integration of Engineering and Infrastructure process.QUALIFICATIONS:* College Diploma/University Degree in Engineering Technology (CET), Building Operation and Maintenance Management or Electrical/Mechanical field;* Minimum 5 years' management experience in maintenance/physical plan environment, healthcare and unionized environment preferred;* Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices, adult education and workplace safety is an asset, knowledge of relevant legislation is essential;* Proficient software knowledge: Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Word); tested* Expert knowledge of computerized maintenance programs (CMMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS);* Ability to read technical drawings, working knowledge of technical trades, working knowledge of facilities infrastructure systems;* Proven strong management skills including financial, human resources, problem solving, negotiation and conflict management/resolutions, change management, evaluation and planning;* Advanced skills in working collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders/partners with a diverse range of needs;* Demonstrated knowledge to collaborate with Director on issues related to budgeting, financial and statistical reporting and analysis and financial management;* Dedication to health & safety and participation on the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees;* Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and create a high performance culture that facilitates growth and development within a team environment* Proven knowledge of emergency measures plans in the event of crisis situations;* Demonstrated awareness of corporate wide energy initiatives;* Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally to ensure solid client service working relationships;* Valid G Driver's License and ability to travel to other Lakeridge Health sites as required;* Ability to work non-traditional hours as required. Due to the complexities of each site, there is a requirement to be available 24/7 to respond to emergencies and to delegate to internal staff and/or contractors.
