We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Medical Lab Technologist to join our team. In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise to help us develop, implement and maintain innovative Laboratory Department practices that will meet the current and future needs of Lakeridge Health.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performing routine and specialized test procedures in Histopathology; organizing workflow to maintain performance standards of quantity and quality; observing, troubleshooting and reporting problems with methods, equipment to Supervisor; ensuring cleanliness of equipment and immediate work area; following established safety and infection control procedures; participating in student training programs, as required; and performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
*Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences (CSMLS);
*Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario(CMLTO);
*Recent working experience in a Histopathology Laboratory required;
*Recent Immunohistochemistry experience preferred;
*Current theoretical and technical knowledge in Histology;
*In-depth knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments and their interrelationships;
*Strong working and technical knowledge of the electronic and/or mechanical equipment necessary to perform routine and specialized testing;
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
*Proven problem solving skills with the ability to recognize problems, identify the cause, create alternatives and determine solutions;
*Able to exercise independent judgement, deductive reasoning with attention to detail;
*Able to work effectively under pressure in emergency situations;
*Proven organizational skills with the ability to assess requests and prioritize them to ensure good and prompt patient care;
*Physically capable of performing bending, lifting, turning frequently throughout the shift to accomplish tasks;
*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions;
*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust; and
*Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.

SALARY: $31.32 - $41.98 per hour
