The IT Developer provides a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement related to the creation, use and management of both existing and custom software applications. The IT Developer works collaboratively with Data Analysts, IT staff and other key stakeholders to gather clinical and business needs, perform workflow analysis, process design, testing, ongoing support, training and general maintenance of customized applications. The IT Developer also helps to align clinical, administrative & financial systems with the organizational objectives and strategies and provides recommendations regarding the potential use of various information systems. JOB DUTIES:* Works collaboratively to identify user requirements and prepare business and technical specifications; and where indicated translates requirements, specifications and rules into data models or customized software applications; * Reviews new and existing custom applications, features, functionalities and workflows and identifies any gaps, risks and/or opportunities for enhancement;* Works collaboratively with Data Analysts & IT staff across the organization;* Support and maintenance of SQL databases;* Develop and maintain ETLs for data transfer to SQL;* Creation of data reports through a variety of tools;* Prepares and delivers training and materials to support newly developed IT systems and enhancements to existing systems; * Manages, monitors, and troubleshoots operational issues and requests using the ticket tracking system;* Prepares and maintains support and troubleshooting documentation for the team;* Participate as a resource for IT projects;* Assist in the evaluation, selection and implementation of new technology;* Coordinate with external vendors for required support on software tools;* Escalates issues to managers as required;* On-Call responsibilities on a rotational basis (based on need);* Performs other position related duties as required;REQUIREMENTS:* Diploma or Degree in Software Development or equivalent;* Strong verbal, written communication, customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical items in a user friendly way that non-technical persons can understand;* Strong analytical skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities;* Proven knowledge and experience working with Visual Studio including VB, .NET, HTML 5, JavaScript and CSS;* Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL 2012 and above relational databases, SSIS and SSRS reporting;* Knowledge and experience with Microsoft BI tools and Data Cube development, MDX/DAX;* Data modeling and warehouse experience;* Experience with Meditech Magic is an asset (specifically Meditech Data Repository);* Experience in Healthcare is an asset;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;* Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices, including staff, patient and environmental safety, and participation in regular in-service education; and,* Proven good attendance record, with the capability of maintaining the same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
