CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHMATERIAL HANDLERLOGISTICSREGULAR PART-TIMEThe current schedule is Days/Evenings;Weekends - 8 hour shifts; (subject to change)Lakeridge Health OshawaCUPE - 1800000379 (Subsequent) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for:receiving and organizing inbound shipments of stock; staging of non-stock and capital products for delivery; maintain backup inventory; advising Manager of short supply and assisting in reconciliation of physical inventory to system inventory; maintaining and assisting with accurate records of all outgoing and incoming shipments and related courier paperwork; performs routine maintenance on the supply carts including scanning and replenishing stock; responds to ad-hoc requests for inventory and coordination of delivery to appropriate locations; reports shipment inaccuracies; maintaining order in the warehouse and other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:* Previous Materials Management experience with exposure to purchasing and physical logistics an asset; * Previous Warehousing experience, including shipping, receiving, storing and picking an asset;* Experience with computerized Materials Management applications an asset; * Proven knowledge of WHMIS and Infection Control policies/procedures;* Ability to organize and prioritize workload while functioning independently with minimum supervision; * Proven effective interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written; * Demonstrates ability to make decisions on quality and accuracy of work and show initiative to initiate positive change; * Familiar with medical supply and equipment products and terminology an asset;* Physically capable of performing job duties including: extended periods of lifting, bending, walking, standing, pushing/pulling carts;* Must be able to provide own transportation to travel to other work sites;* Ability to operate all manual and automatic equipment when handling supplies in a safe manner;* Ability to work productively in a high activity environment with many interruptions; * Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area; and* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining the same standard.
