The Hospital's annual operating budget exceeds $600 M.Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Employee Relations, Operations and Systems, the Strategic Human Resources Business Partner is a point of contact for managers and employees to provide strategic HR and people management support; development and implementation of HR policies and procedures; and advice and consultation to clinical and corporate programs on a wide variety of topics such as organizational changes, strategic workforce planning and labour relations issues. The Strategic Human Resources Business Partner is seen as the primary liaison for all leadership. Responsibilities:* Acting as the first contact for the provision of all appropriate Labour Relations and employee relations advice and interpretation of collective agreements;* Acting as the primary advisor to all leaders and providing value added advice and counsel in all areas of Human Resources including: performance management and progressive discipline up to and including termination of employment (in consultation with Manager, Labour Relations and legal counsel as required);* Reinforcing appropriate application of HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the LH vision, mission and values and to ensure adherence with legislative requirements; * Working with the leadership team to ensure their HR requirements are met and to help build a working environment conducive to high levels of employment commitment and engagement;* Consulting and supporting leadership with respect to employee turnover, absenteeism, changes in work setting, employee engagement, recognition, efficiency and other employee-related matters; * Collaborating with the Manager, Labour Relations and the Redeployment Committee, to coordinate the layoff processes including redeployment and reassignment.* Advising and assisting managers through investigation processes;* Investigating Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention Policy and Code of Conduct policy complaints; * Assisting leadership within the HR portfolio in the development of new policies, processes, programs and services related to the HR portfolio; taking the lead on measures to heighten the efficiency of the provision of service within the portfolio;* Assisting to ensure the Human Resources department runs in a well-coordinated and professional manner; * Providing coverage of HR Colleagues as required.Requirements* Bachelor's degree in a Business Administration, Human Resources or relevant program or an equivalent combination of both education and experience; * CHRP or CHRL designation required;* 3-5 years' of Human Resources and Labour Relations experience in a hospitalized environment preferred;* Significant knowledge of current Human Resources and Labour Relations issues and practices in a unionized environment;* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook;* Knowledge and experience of HRIS;* Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects;* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service;* Strong leadership, facilitation and conflict resolution skills;* Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to achieve resolution; * Strong teamwork ethic; Team player and willing to provide and receive guidance and coaching to other team members;* Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner and set project and work timelines;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area; and * Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining the same standard.Salary: $33.81 - $42.77 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
