CUPE CLERICALLAKERIDGE HEALTHREHABILITATION CLERKPOST ACUTE SPECIALTY SERVICESAMBULATORY REHABILITATION CENTRETEMPORARY FULL TIME THE CURRENT SCHEDULE IS DAYS - 8 HR SHIFTS; subject to changeLakeridge Health Whitby home base, but may be scheduled at other ARC sites.CUPE CL-1700002235 (Subsequent)This position is open to CUPE Clerical staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing December 20, 2017 and closing at 11:59 pm on December 27, 2017.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Patient Care Manager (PCM) the Rehabilitation Clerk will perform the following duties; screen referrals for completeness, dictionary tasks, changes and edits in the Community Wide Scheduling module, scheduling and pre-registering all scheduled patients in the admission module; in collaboration with the PCM and Clinical Supervisor (CS), determine the level of prioritization based on the prioritization tool; be aware of and meet booking timelines and targets; rescheduling patients as necessary; billing and performing a wide range of clerical duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the ARC.QUALIFICATIONS:*Graduate of a two year Community College Medical Office Administration program; *Relevant clerical experience in a Hospital setting;*Recent related experience in a rehab or physiotherapy clinic an asset;*Knowledge of Meditech and Community Wide Scheduling module;*Proven knowledge of Meditech Admission module;*Knowledge of booking/scheduling Rehabilitation procedures; *Knowledge of medical terminology and general office procedures (tested);*Proven keyboarding skills (45 WPM tested) and knowledge of computers;*Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level (tested);*Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite applicants is an asset;*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills ;*Ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;*Ability to work productively, independently and as a member of a team, in a busy environment with frequent distractions;*Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and manage multiple tasks;*Proven understanding of "customer service" concept and ability to manage telephone communications in an efficient and effective manner;*Strict adherence to confidentiality;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and*Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.SALARY: $23.19 - $24.24 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified CUPE Clerical staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 1999 (Clerical Bargaining Unit).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
