MAINTENANCE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (MSR)

The MSR works as part of a team responsible for the duties associated with the general maintenance, repair and upkeep of the Health Center facilities, equipment and grounds. Conducts preventative and demand maintenance on equipment as scheduled.



QUALIFICATIONS:

*Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent technical experience with basic math skills.
*Demonstrated ability to read and write English at a Grade 10 level or equivalent.
*Minimum one year recent working experience in a maintenance/industrial environment.
*Manual dexterity to handle equipment and supplies.
*Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills promoting good customer service.
*Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a self-directed manner with attention to detail and deadlines.
*Evidence of positive team based skills.
*Ability to perform the essential duties of the position;
*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;
*Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public.
*Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this are;
*Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record

Asset:
*Grade 12 technical/vocational school education.
*1 year experience in a maintenance capacity within a hospital environment is preferred
*Millwright or equivalent certification would be an asset.
*Vocational training in Painting/Plastering.
*Knowledge of operation of mechanical tools and equipment.

Physical Demands:
*Walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, lifting (20 - 30 kg.)
*Exposure to heat and cold.
*Handling of chemicals, solvents.
*Some exposure to asbestos.




Salary: Step 1: $24.58 Step 2 $25.17 Step 3: $25.88

This position is open to all qualified CUPE Service staff throughout Lakeridge Health.

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 4365 (Clerical Bargaining Unit).
