Position Description:Reporting to the Director of Business Development at Lakeridge Health, the LHEARN Centre Manager will have direct oversight of the operations of a 20,000 sq. ft. clinical education facility and conference centre. The LHEARN Centre is located at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and incorporates the latest in clinical education technology. Using state-of-the-art task trainers, high-fidelity patient simulators, videoconferencing and other tools, the LHEARN Centre is dedicated to training the next generation of health care providers and keeping those already in practice on the cutting edge of best practice. The LHEARN Centre facilitates over 7,000 annual bookings and continues to serve as a central meeting hub for staff across our hospital and region. This role will involve maximizing non-ministry revenue generation programs corporate-wide such as patient entertainment, advertising, leases and other contract negotiations that will be key to maintaining fiscal sustainability at Lakeridge Health into the future. The position will have a high degree of exposure to business development activities and initiatives focused on maximizing efficiencies and delivering on revenue objectives for programs and activities within the LHEARN Centre and outside of it.
Duties and Responsibilities:* Managing 2 staff (LHEARN Administrative Assistant & Medical Simulation Specialist);* Management of operations of various revenue generating clinical training programs (e.g. ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP, CCRT);* Working in close contact and in partnership with the Medical Director of Academic Affairs on all matters pertaining to high-fidelity simulation and the simulation lab environment; * Event management and oversight of various event logistics such as registration, space layouts & catering, keen understanding of client/customer service;* Handling ad-hoc duties pertaining to business development and revenue generating projects corporate-wide, in direct support of the Director of Business Development;* Managing facility rentals and ongoing contracts with key community stakeholders and conducting LHEARN Centre tours;* Contributing to the accreditation process surrounding continuing medical education for clinical staff;* Participation in the innovation office at Lakeridge Health;* May require occasional work on evenings & weekends; * Other duties as required.
Qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree in business, commerce or marketing.
