The Senior Systems Consultant will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of workload and tasks for Systems Consultants and provide input to performance appraisals. The Senior Systems Consultant provides direction, support and education to the Systems Consultants in their daily work. This role participates in and leads user groups and acts as a resource and IT expert for the Systems Consultants and the rest of the organization. The Senior Systems Consultant collaborates with physicians, nurses and other members of the health care team on technical issues including analyzing, designing, testing and implementing new systems and technology to provide solutions that obtain the maximum benefit of hardware and software technology, ensuring the reliability and availability of these systems. The Senior Systems Consultant also participates in planning of technology roadmaps and capital needs.The Senior Systems Consultant works closely with members of the hospital's technical and applications teams and other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support innovative and cost-effective IT solutions for the organization.The Senior Systems Consultant offers support and assists the Manager of Technical Services as required.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, organizes, leads and controls the activities of the data center managed by the Information Technology division consistent with Lakeridge Health Corporation's leadership and management competencies in the following key areas: OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT* Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other disaster recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery / business continuity strategies and industry best practices* Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications* Liaise with applications consultants, system consultants, and network administrators to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems* Direct and/or provide guidance to systems consultants* Develop and/or reviews policies/procedures relating to hardware systems deployed within the IT environment ACQUISITION & DEPLOYMENT* Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including overall data center functions for Virtual environments, servers, PCs, operating systems, storage area networks and associated hardware.* Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and its systems* Assist in the development of technical specifications and evaluations of RFPs, RFIs, RFQs* Conduct research on emerging technologies to determine synergy and benefits within the Lakeridge environment STRATEGY & PLANNING* Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations* Assist other systems consultants in conceptualizing and deploying new systems and applications into the enterprise environment* Plan phases of the IT development life cycle for a variety of projects* Provides input and guidance to ensure that systems meet business requirements and system goals, fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues* Participate in the development of IT strategic plans, roadmaps and capital panning in collaboration with the Manager of Technical SystemsREQUIREMENTS: * University degree or college diploma in computer science or related field and/or 5 or more years work experience in a hospital Information Technology environment* Proven experience in IT system design, deployment and maintenance* Extensive experience with enterprise applications including both Meditech Magic and Meditech Client Server applications or other Clinical Information Systems* Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Microsoft Server 2008 R2, Microsoft Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows 10* Extensive experience with Microsoft enterprise systems including Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365* Proven experience with virtualization technologies, specific VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon View* Certification and knowledge of ITIL v3 is an asset* Excellent project management skills* Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws* Superior verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language* The capacity to develop, mentor and direct others* Ability to present and offer education sessions to a group of systems consultants* Strong customer service orientation, strong interpersonal skills* Highly self-motivated, Keen attention to detail* Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment* Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standardSALARY: $41.489 -
