Registered Nurse

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care. To participate as a member of the Multidisciplinary Care Team. As an individual practitioner, to maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. To maintain nursing records. To perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
* current B.C.L.S.;
* proven commitment to complete Critical Care Certificate;
* significant recent experience in a critical care/intensive care/cardiopulmonary unit required;
* must have IV Start Certification and Cardiac Monitoring course;
* demonstrated ventilatory and haemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation skills;
* proven cardiac rhythm and patient assessment skills (tested);
* demonstrated conflict management abilities;
* proven effective organizational, critical thinking, prioritization, time-management, problem-solving and teaching skills;
* proven effective communication and interpersonal skills;
* proven commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO;
* demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;
* demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular inservice education in this area;
* physically capable to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with assistance;
* B.Sc.N. and ACLS preferred;
* Certification in defibrillation, preferred;
* epidural/PCA pain management skills, preferred
