Wage Schedule: $41.83 - $45.57 / hr, based on 37.5 hour week
Program: Medicine Program

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Education Leader leads and supports quality care outcomes through the planning, implementing and evaluating of educational programs to enhance Knowledge, skills and attitudes of nursing and the health care team. Promoting quality improvement, in congruence with the hospital's vision and mission, the Clinical Education Leader will utilize principles of adult education, and will develop/design, plan, and deliver/provide educational programs/activities which facilitates the development of nursing staff within the Medicine Program. The CEL will encourage, promote and facilitate continuous learning for nursing and
self to ensure constant improvement in clinical practice within Medicine.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with a current College of Nurses of Ontario registration; Masters preferred (MN or M Ed);
- certification in B.C.L.S.;
- Adult Education/teaching certificate preferred or experience in teaching, program planning, development and evaluation;
- strong clinical nursing experience and expertise in medicine required;
- current member in related professional nursing and interest group or association, preferred;
- advanced nursing knowledge in related clinical specialty;
- knowledge of current trends in nursing and health care;
- knowledge of applicable legislative and hospital/program policies;
- leadership, prioritization, presentation skills;
- project management and problem solving skills;
- demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication;
- demonstrates skills in motivating and working effectively with staff;
- demonstrates excellence in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills;
- exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task;
- demonstrated understanding of and commitment to safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation
