Standardized Patients (Queen's Univeristy)

Standardized Patients (SPs) assist in the enactment of simulated medical examinations within a clinical setting.

Type of Employment: Casual

Rate of Pay: Paid Training with Remuneration of $17-$30/hour

Location: Queen's Lakeridge Health Campus, 247 Simcoe St. North, Oshawa - Onsite

Closing Date: Friday July 10, 2026

Standardized Patient Program
Standardized Patients (SPs) are trained individuals who convincingly act out specific medical scenarios, imitating physical, historical, and emotional characteristics of patients. They participate in simulated interviews and physical examinations to help medical students improve their communication and practical skills. SPs give feedback on how medical students' actions made them feel from the patient's perspective.

Queen's Lakeridge MD Family Medicine Program
The Queen's Lakeridge Health MD Family Medicine Program is the first-of-its-kind in Canada, targeting the shortage of family doctors. It focuses on training community-oriented physicians to offer comprehensive care in southeastern Ontario.

We are looking for mature applicants - Seniors Welcome!

Ideal candidates for this role come from diverse backgrounds and demographics, displaying good communication skills, a genuine interest in supporting the education of future family physicians, and have the availability for reasonably flexible part-time hours on Wednesdays.
