This is Lakeridge Health!DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:General clerical office duties including: filing, retrieval and assembly of health records & related paperwork. The Chart Management Clerk will be responsible for maintaining and safeguarding the confidentiality of patient information; performing record processing functions including qualitative and quantitative analysis for inpatient, day surgery, clinics and emergency records; participating in departmental quality improvement and risk management activities; monitoring physicians' chart completion and providing appropriate follow up; performing microfilm/scanning functions; transcription clerical support; medical correspondence support for Release of patient Information; and other related duties as required. The successfulcandidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a diverse workenvironment.QUALIFICATIONS:* Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and significant clerical experience in a health record-related setting is required;* Recent related experience in a Health Record Department required;* Certified with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM), and active membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) preferred;* Knowledge of appropriate release of information procedures;* Knowledge of health record management, including the requirements of a complete health record;* Proven knowledgeable of current and pending legislation governing privacy and confidentiality and accessing information* Must display and maintain a customer-focused attitude as well as a positive and professional image for the Program; * Experience in terminal digit filing (tested);* Must have medical terminology (tested);* Strong keyboarding skills (40 wpm, tested);* Basic word processing skills, preferably utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel (tested);* Demonstrated previous Meditech experience preferred (ADM, MRI, PCI modules);* Effective communication and interpersonal skills;* Proven organizational and independent work skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines;* Physically capable of performing the work including reaching, bending, lifting, pulling and moving large numbers of charts;* Proven ability to be detail oriented with close attention paid to accuracy;* Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and meet productivity standards with frequent interruptions in a busy/stressful environment;* Must be a critical thinker and be proactive in developing systems to facilitate improved record processing and the safeguarding of the health information;* Proven knowledge of destruction and retention legislation for personal health information;* Must have satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environment safety and participation in regular in-service in this area.At Lakeridge Health, we value inclusion and diversity.
