DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides intake, pre-entry services, psychosocial assessment, individual, family and group psychotherapy and psycho-education to children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders and related co-morbidities. The SW also provides ongoing psychosocial treatment to families and parents of children/adolescents and adults referred to the program. Inpatient consultation is provided when requested or to assist with discharge from the hospital. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides evidence based care to clients while working collaboratively with team members and community partners. The SW engages in continuing education to maintain optimal quality of care to clients. The SW is involved in outreach education and presentations to community partners appropriate to role. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master of Social Work Degree;
* Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW);
* Demonstrated extensive training and experience (3-5 years) in the provision of assessment and evidence based treatment (individual, family and group therapy) services to clients with eating disorders and associated psychiatric or concurrent disorders;
* Training and demonstrated experience in evidence based practices such as FBT, CBT-E, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy approaches;
* Preference given to individuals with advanced training and experience in psychotherapy, e.g., process psychotherapy group skills
* Demonstrated knowledge of group theories and interpersonal relations theories;
* Clinical experience in eating disorders across the age range (children-adult);
* Ability and experience with assessing and formulating a treatment plan for which is: creative; meaningful to the patients; workable within the time limits and includes an evaluation component;
* Ability to provide information, assessment and entry facilitation including assessment, case management, clinical and supportive counseling, service coordination, crisis intervention, advocacy, and outreach.
* Training and experience in treatment of trauma;
* Experience working within a brief acute care model preferably with a hospital setting;
* Demonstrated knowledge of Ontario network of services for Eating Disorders, health care facilities and community support systems, social service agencies, etc;
* Ability to organize workload and establish priorities effectively;
* Strong clinical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
* Demonstrated effective leadership skills and strong initiative and problem-solving skills;
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, and to work collaboratively with community partners;
* Ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;
* Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act of Ontario;
* Committed to client-focused philosophy;
* Must have satisfactory performance record;
