We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced leader with vision, initiative, and strategic thinking to join our Lakeridge team as Manager, Total Rewards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director, People Services, the Manager, Total Rewards is an integral member of the People Services leadership team, leading the organization's compensation, pension, and benefits strategies and operations. This role requires a leader who can think systemically and act pragmatically, navigate complexity in a unionized, public?sector environment, and skilled in leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making.
At the heart of our People Strategy is a simple belief: how we reward, recognize, and support our people directly shapes how they care for patients and communities. We are seeking a Manager, Total Rewards, who demonstrates both strategic acumen and a deep understanding of human dynamics. This role is well-suited for a leader who views total rewards as a catalyst for workforce sustainability, equity, and engagement. The successful candidate will cultivate effective and collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and partners, and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality HR services by implementing best practices and prioritizing outstanding client service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

" Lead the evolution of total rewards strategies that support workforce sustainability, attraction, retention, and engagement.
" Ensure compensation, pension, and benefits programs align with organizational strategy, business objectives, fiscal stewardship, and equity principles.
" Act as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to senior leaders on total rewards issues and trends.
" Oversee job evaluation program and compensation frameworks across a complex, unionized environment.
" Lead market benchmarking and pay equity analysis to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
" Ensure that pension and benefit plans are compliant and administered in accordance with legislation, governance standards, plan documents, collective agreements, and audit requirements.
" Monitor competitive trends, conduct market research and analysis to ensure appropriate benchmarking, and conduct and participate in salary surveys.
" Partner with Finance on benefits budgeting, plan design, cost containment, and long-term sustainability.
" Oversee vendor management, renewals, audits, and financial analysis.
" Use data, metrics, and insights to assess program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.
" Strengthen reporting and analytics to support transparency and evidence-based decisions.
" Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team with collaborative environment and support professional growth.
" Support the Total Rewards team with administration of the benefits plans, the contract renewal process, analysis of monthly financial reports, and annual audits.
" Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture with a focus on continuous improvement.
" Represent Total Rewards on enterprise-wide committees, task forces, and working groups.
" Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of programs, policies, and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

" A university degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
" CHRL Designation, CCP, or CBP preferred
" 5+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, ideally in a complex, unionized or public-sector environment
" Strong working knowledge of compensation and benchmarking, job evaluation, pay equity, pensions, benefits, and HR systems
" Proven ability to lead a team, create a collaborative working environment and support successful change management
" Experience and knowledge of employment, pay equity and benefits legislation in Ontario
" A strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into practical solutions
" Strong people leadership skills and a commitment to developing and empowering HR professionals
" Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively and influence and build trust at all levels
" Demonstrated ability to prepare statistical and descriptive reports, investigate facts, analyze and synthesize information
" Comfort working in ambiguity and leading change
" A commitment to equity, inclusion, and people-centred practices
" High integrity, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership style
" Familiarity with HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration systems
