This is Lakeridge Health!This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 10 February 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 18 February 2026.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Unit Clerk performs a wide variety of clerical duties, including facilitating the admission/discharge/transfer process; documenting and maintaining a variety of statistical information for the unit; answering the telephone and accurate message taking and distribution; computer data entry and writing reports; and performing other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:* Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience;* Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);* Proven keyboarding skills of 35 wpm (tested);* Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested - basic level);* Working knowledge of Meditech, including Admissions module;* Previous experience with Ambulatory programs in EPIC is preferred;* Previous experience in transcribing doctor's orders;* Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize, coordinate and perform a wide range of clerical duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the department;* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to effectively interact with staff, patients and families;* Ability to work productively with frequent distractions and interruptions;* Must have satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area;At Lakeridge Health, we value inclusion and diversity.
