This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 10 February 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 18 February 2026.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Unit Clerk performs a wide variety of clerical duties, including facilitating the admission/discharge/transfer process; documenting and maintaining a variety of statistical information for the unit; answering the telephone and accurate message taking and distribution; computer data entry and writing reports; and performing other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Medical Office Administration Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
* Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
* Proven keyboarding skills of 35 wpm (tested);
* Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested - basic level);
* Working knowledge of Meditech, including Admissions module;
* Previous experience with Ambulatory programs in EPIC is preferred;
* Previous experience in transcribing doctor's orders;
* Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize, coordinate and perform a wide range of clerical duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the department;
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to effectively interact with staff, patients and families;
* Ability to work productively with frequent distractions and interruptions;
* Must have satisfactory performance record;
