Status: Regular Full Time
Department: LG LTC PHYSIOTHERAPY
Program: Long Term Care
8 Hour Shifts, Days Schedule (Subject to Change)
Location: Lakeridge Health Ajax, ON - Long Term Care
Wage Schedule: $35.020 - $36.970 per hour

This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 3 February 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 5 February 2026.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

According to the updated standards and current scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the policies of Lakeridge Health, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients whose conditions are stabilized; administer treatments as ordered by physicians and assigned by Patient Care Manager or Patient Care Specialist; observe and enforce infection control principles and aseptic techniques required in the prevention of nosocomial and communicable diseases; and other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college;
* Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
* Current B.C.L.S.;
* Proven related and effective experience in a Medical Unit or similar environment;
* Current certificate in Medication Administration;
* Updated nursing skills including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment courses;
* Knowledge and experience in wound care;
* Demonstrated problem-solving and teaching skills;
* Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills;
* Proven sound judgement, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy;
* Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignments in a reasonable length of time;
* Demonstrated adherence and support to the customer focus/patient centred philosophy;
* Ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;
* Ability to lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;
* Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario;
* Demonstrated ability to work at full scope of practice according to the CNO guidelines;
* Must have a satisfactory performance record;
* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions.
