Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure, Applications and Cybersecurity, the Applications Consultant is responsible for the configuration, integration, and ongoing support of collaboration, identity, and security platforms within the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystems and connected 3rd party systems. The role ensures that enterprise applications including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, Active Directory, and 3rd party email security systems operate securely and effectively to support organizational and clinical operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

" Administer and support Exchange Online, including mail flow configuration, routing, connectors, and hybrid integrations with on-premises environments.
" Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and subject matter expertise for Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
" Act as Teams and OneDrive Administrator, managing configuration, policies, permissions, and integrations across M365 services.
" Manage and optimize Conditional Access policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and related security configurations to strengthen access control and data protection.
" Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, and lists to support collaboration, workflows, and document management.
" Develop and manage Power Automate (Flows), Power Apps, and Microsoft Lists to automate business processes and improve efficiency.
" Manage and support Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD), including user account administration, security and distribution group management, and access control.
" Maintain and enhance email security systems such as Proofpoint, Abnormal Security, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and Exchange Online Protection, ensuring continuous protection from spam, phishing, and malware threats.
" Support integration of cybersecurity and email security solutions with Exchange Online and identity systems.
" Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to monitor, analyze, and respond to email threat incidents, quarantines, and false positives.
" Assist with cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including hybrid integrations and tenant transitions.
" Enforce governance standards and lifecycle management practices across M365 platforms.
" Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration runbooks, and knowledge base materials.
" Stay current with new Microsoft 365 and cybersecurity features, recommending improvements that enhance system reliability, security, and user experience.
" Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff within the organization.
" Duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

" Three (3)-year Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
" Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent; preferred
" Microsoft Certified: Azure or equivalent; preferred
" Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365 environments.
" Excellent organizational skills;
" Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
" Effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills;

" Must have a satisfactory performance record; and
" Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety, participation in regular in-service sessions.
