ImagingProgram: Diagnostic Imaging Services8 Hour Shifts, days/evenings/weekends/on-call Schedule (Subject to Change)Location: Lakeridge Health OshawaWage Schedule: $42.240 - $54.870 per hourPosting Reference: 2500001712This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 9 July 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 16 July 2025.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, and in conjunction with the Corporate Charge Technologist, the Senior Technologist (Clinical Instructor) performs all MRI procedures and assists the radiologist with specialized procedures according to the standards of practice. The Technologist is also responsible for assessing, planning implementation and evaluating patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary care environment. They are responsible for ensuring proper MR safety, patient preparation and screening, patient information registry and report preparation, equipment maintenance, and other duties as relevant.The Corporate Senior Technologist (Clinical Instructor) will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the corporate strategy for clinical MRI student training in the clinical environment, critique imaging performed by the students and provide mentorship to support their success in entry to practice examinations. The Corporate Senior Technologist (Clinical Instructor) coordinates the clinical education provided within the Diagnostic Imaging program, liaises with The Michener Institute/University of Toronto, Fanshawe College and/or other affiliated teaching programs. Additionally, the Corporate Senior Technologist (Clinical Instructor) will have the responsibility to assist in delivery and planning for departmental quality improvement projects, MRI safety, assisting the Corporate Charge Technologist with operational leadership and other duties as relevant or assigned. The Corporate Senior Technologist (Clinical Instructor) may be required to travel to additional sites to support student learning as applicable.QUALIFICATIONS:* Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in good standing;* Completion of an accredited training program in magnetic resonance imaging;* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Medical Radiation Technologist, preferred;* Minimum 1 year MRI experience, preferred;* Experience with leading and mentoring multiple students and team members;* Current CAMRT Registration, an asset;* Thorough knowledge of MRI safety;* Thorough knowledge of theoretical and practical MR physics, image quality enhancement, parameter trade-offs, potential contrast complications;* Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations;* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community;* Able to function effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team;* Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement;* Ability to perform the essential duties of the position;* Must have a satisfactory performance record;* Current BLS training;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and,* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) .
