CUPEJob Title: Plumber - Mech/TradesStatus: Regular Full TimeDepartment: Mechanical/TradesProgram: Engineering & Infrastructure8 Hour Shifts, Days Schedule (Subject to Change)Location: Lakeridge Health OshawaWage Schedule: $34.250 - $36.160 per hourPosting Reference: 2400002090DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*Receiving prioritized requisitions on a daily basis, completing and signing them off once work is finished.*Repairing a variety of fixtures, taps, valves, pumps and flushing devices.*Performing maintenance and inspections of equipment as outlined on the PM worksheet, and documenting all repairs made and parts used.*The plumber requires skills which include welding, soldering, repairs to pneumatics, hydraulic systems, pipefitting, layouts and fabrication.*Inspecting, operating, testing and repairing Reverse Osmosis Systems daily.*Operating and maintaining the domestic hot and cold water systems.*Thorough operating knowledge of hospital wide sprinkler/standpipe and the associated booster systems*Actively participating in Hospital and Departmental Safety and Quality Assurance Programs.*Attending all safety meetings.*Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:*Certificate of Qualification issued by the Province of Ontario in the Plumbing Trade;*Backflow and Cross Connection Control Licence;*Demonstrated experience in all aspects of the Plumbing Trade;*Demonstrated knowledge of reading and understanding blue prints, CAD drawings, fire protection, medical gas and RO systems, piping layouts, and other specifications.*Experience with a variety of Critical Building Systems including pneumatic controls, chiller operating system, wet and dry vacuum system, and testing, domestic hot water systems, reverse osmosis systems and copper-silver ionization system for hot water;*Experience with Thermo dynamic mixing valves, sprinkler/standpipe systems and main storm and sanitary drain architecture and appropriate cleaning methods;*Computer skills to the level required for the job;*Ability to work independently, prioritize and make responsible decisions within the limits defined by the technical standards or job practices;*demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety, and participates in regular in-service education in this area;*Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;*Ability to read and write English to the level required for the job;*Knowledge of computer software for Program;*Physically able of performing essential duties as outlined in the physical demands analysis attache;*Must have a satisfactory performance record;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Demonstrates and understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff, patient and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service in this area; and*Proven good attendance record with the ability to maintain the same standard.Standby & Callbacks:The Plumbers regular work hours will be Monday through Friday 8 am until 4 pm and may include evening and weekends.
