ONAJob Title: Registered NurseStatus: Temporary Full Time (12 Months)Department: Critical Care Unit - BowmanvilleProgram: Critical Care12 Hour Shifts, DDNN Schedule (Subject to Change)Location: Lakeridge Health BowmanvilleWage Schedule: $39.070 - $56 per hourPosting Reference: 2400000982Reporting to the Manager, the Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) will facilitate a positive patient experience, and practice to the full scope of a Critical Care RN meeting the standards set forth by Critical Care Services of Ontario (CCSO), and the College of Nurses of Ontario.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Critical Care RN will provide quality critical care nursing practice to support patients in life threatening, or potentially life threatening, health situations. The Critical Care RN will utilize advanced knowledge, problem solving, critical thinking, leadership, enhanced communication skills, and work collaboratively alongside the Interprofessional Team.This position will require increased educational preparation, in collaboration with Critical Care Leadership, to perform added duties as assigned, such as but not limited to: Critical Care Response Team (CCRT), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and Charge Nurse (CN).QUALIFICATIONS:* Baccalaureate degree in nursing is preferred;* Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);* ACLS preferred with current BCLS;*Lakeridge Health Adult Life Support Medical Directive competency preferred, or completed within oneyear of hire* Completion/In progress/Enrolled in Critical Care Nursing Certificate (proof must be provided withapplication) with commitment to be completed within 6 months;* Experience in Critical Care/Intensive Care OR Medical or Surgical nursing experience* Evidence of advanced assessment skills of patients requiring ventilator, hemodynamic monitoring, andECG interpretation;* Epidural/PCA pain management skills preferred;* Demonstrated conflict management abilities;* Proven effective organizational, critical thinking, prioritization, time-management, problem-solvingand teaching skills;* Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills;* Proven commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO;* Demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;* Physically capable to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with assistance;* Must have a satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork andJoy;* Demonstrates understanding of, and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safetyprograms and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regularin-services education in this area; and* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) .
