Non-UnionLAKERIDGE HEALTHTitle: Senior Systems ConsultantProgram: Information TechnologyStatus: Regular Full TimeSchedule: Days; 7.5 hour shifts (subject to change)Salary: $46.221 - $51.445 per hourSite: Lakeridge Health OshawaPosting: UNEX 2300001866POSITION DESCRIPTION:Reporting to the Manager, IT Technical Services, the Senior Systems Consultant is responsible for the architecture, installation, support and documentation of a VMWare virtualized infrastructure including VMWare View Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Further capability with all technologies from Microsoft to include all facets of a Windows based network. Experience with all of the following technologies; VMware, Enterprise Storage, Converged and Hyper-converged infrastructure, Linux based networks, Networking, and Firewalls.DUTIES & RESPONSIBITLIES:Technical Readiness: * Maintain "expert" level technical capability on technologies included in the VMWare suite of products. The technical depth of expertise should ensure that the Senior Systems Consultant is considered the resident expert in relation to products from key partners in the IT systems practice.* Continually expand technical expertise through self-study, on-line training, manufacturer seminars and additional training resources as directed.* Investigate and recommend products and/or technologies from vendors that will further enhance our Corporate Information portfolio.* Maintain general awareness of VMWare offerings and partner product lines including those that may not specifically relate to job function.Service Delivery: * Review and implement projects based on approved agreements, statements of work, and/or client services work orders; ensure that all required deliverables are completed to client's satisfaction; provide status to Management on client requested changes and ensure that a change order is completed prior to completion of additional work requested by client.* Ensure that all projects utilize what would be considered enterprise best practices during design and implementation; ensure that solutions adhere to general security best practices during implementation.* Develop and document processes, methodology, project templates, and solutions articles that speed delivery of projects and service offerings; when following previously documented processes, validate the accuracy of the procedures and document any process improvements to further enhance the solution or the delivery of the solution.* Automate the deployment of Microsoft based solutions and streamline deployments using the scripts and development tools as required.* Ensure the satisfaction of our clients by completing assigned work in a timely manner and according to proven practices.REQUIREMENTS:* Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent;* Minimum five years of systems infrastructure design and implementation with an emphasis on VMWare and Microsoft technologies;* Minimum five years' experience in architecting, designing and deploying virtualized infrastructures; * Minimum five years' experience working with a VMWare virtualized environment and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure;* VMware vSphere is a core requirement of this role AND expert level experience in the following: - VMWare Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure - Enterprise Storage Systems - Dell/EMC - Enterprise Load Balancing Systems - Citrix NetScaler, F5 and Kemp - VMware NSX Network Virtualization and Security Platform - VMWare Desktop and Application Virtualization - Current VCP-DCV, VCP-NV or VCP-DTM* Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer preferred;* VMWare Certified Professional preferred;* Proven experience implementing best practices in an end-user environment;* Thorough knowledge of desktop management and related technologies/processes such as storage, networking, management, monitoring, security, performance, capacity, and availability; * Proven experience producing business relevant presentations and technical oriented writing;* Able to lead and provide direction to network administrators and consultants working on medium to large-scale projects including project management activities;* Ability to work weekends and/or off hours/on-call as necessary to meet departmental needs;* Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills; *Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and,* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with Lakeridge Health's policies and procedures.Lakeridge Health thanks all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
