OPSEULAKERIDGE HEALTHOCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTMENTAL HEALTH & ADDICTIONS PROGRAMMENTAL HEALTH DAY TREATMENTREGULAR FULL TIMESCHEDULE: 8 Hour Day/Evening Shifts (Subject to change)SALARY: $36.85 - $50.55 per hour SITE: LAKERIDGE HEALTH OSHAWA OPSEU - 2300001800DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Working within a multidisciplinary team the Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing psycho-educational mental health groups to adults with serious mental illness following an inpatient admission or a visit to the Crisis Intervention Team. The focus of the MHDT program is primarily to assist the client in developing or enhancing coping skills related to the social, emotional, and psychological difficulties the client presents with and to link the patient to appropriate community services upon discharge for continuity of care. The focus of treatment provided by the occupational therapist may include developing, improving and sustaining or restoring skills in activities of daily living, work or productive activities, and play or leisure. Develop, remediate, and restore sensorimotor, cognitive, or psychosocial components of performance. To participate in implementing interventions utilizing specific media and selected activities in a group setting or individually; environmental adaptations; counselling; skill teaching; evaluating, adjusting, modifying or terminating treatment plans where appropriate; providing crisis intervention; maintaining accurate clinical records according to established standards. Maintaining occupational equipment in safe working order and recommending acquisition of equipment and supplies.QUALIFICATIONS:* M.
