SALARY: $41.36 - $47.55 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Pinewood Centre of Lakeridge Health provides a range of services to individuals with substance use, concurrent disorders, and problem gambling concerns as well as services for family members in Durham Region. This position will function as part of the Community Treatment Team serving individuals and family members within the community. This senior clinical role provides leadership in the provision of direct counselling services, outreach services, clinical consultation, and program development and analysis activities within an evidence-based approach. Close collaboration with colleagues and community partners is an essential component of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Masters Degree in Social Sciences;
* Registration with professional college, as regulated;
* Proven experience providing case management functions (assessment, referral, treatment planning, linking, advocacy, and monitoring and evaluating client progress) and group counselling to adult and youth substance users and family members;
* Proven experience in providing a broad range of counselling services to substance using adults and youth and family members including individual, crisis, telephone, and family counselling services;
* Proven experience in providing group-based services including psycho-educational, process, and therapy-based group modalities;
* Proven excellent knowledge of theories of addiction, evidence-based and recovery-focused treatment models, pharmacology, withdrawal management, concurrent disorders/issues, crisis intervention, and special client populations;
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in working with key-issues and providing specialized services to individuals with more complex concerns and specialized needs such as the homeless, physical health issues, family issues, women, adolescents, transitional youth, LGBTTQ, aboriginal peoples, and the elderly;
* Demonstrated commitment to client-focused and strength-based philosophy of care;
* Proven exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
* Proven ability in community development and capacity building with community partners for example with off-site community-based services, school boards and mental health systems;
* Proven ability to work closely with a clinical team, and independently in a manner consistent with high professional standards;
* Demonstrated confidence and experience in applying therapeutic principles to practice;
* Demonstrated experience in program development and analysis;
* Exceptional experience in providing leadership and demonstrated engagement in numerous activities including clinical consultation; exceptional presentation skills and delivery of professional trainings and facilitating workshops;
* Sound knowledge and application of research designs, implementation and data analysis;
* Demonstrated ability to recognize and diffuse escalating or potentially violent clients;
* Exceptional knowledge of community resources and provincial communities of practice;
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions in this area;
* Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard;
* Proven good performance record and ability of maintaining this same standard;
* Willingness to be clinically supervised and pursue ongoing professional development;
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team;
* Must have valid Ontario driver's license and valid vehicle insurance;
* Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required;
* Must have satisfactory performance record;

* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
