FULL TIME
8 hour Day shifts; (subject to change)

SALARY: $55.62 - $70.89 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Psychologist for the Child, Youth and Family Program provides psychological assessment, diagnostic evaluation and treatment to children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders in the intensive ambulatory, outpatient and in-patient components of the program. The successful candidate will provide direction to the team in areas of program evaluation, research design and consultation to other health care providers. You will participate in professional development and continuing education to maintain competence in your clinical discipline. You will also play an active role in departmental and hospital wide committees.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Ph.D/ Psy.D. in Psychology with competency in clinical psychology with children, adolescent and families;
* Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (in good standing);
* Extensive child and adolescent mental health background preferably in an acute care hospital setting;
* Proven to have excellent skills in psychological testing and diagnostic evaluation of children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders;
* Previous experience providing clinical supervision;
* Demonstrated to have excellent team building, interpersonal, consultation and communication skills, both written and verbal;
* Proven experience in assessment and treatment of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral problems in both inpatient and outpatient setting (consultation and therapy);
* Proven training and experience in group psychotherapy;
* Demonstrated committed to a client focused philosophy;
* Proven ability to work effectively with clients with concurrent disorders;
*Demonstrated ability to work well independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team, and to work effectively with community partners; strong consultation skills necessary;
* Demonstrated research and program evaluation skills;
* Committed to client-focused philosophy;
* Able to project a progressive, positive, professional image throughout the program, hospital and community;
* Proven working knowledge of the Mental Health Act of Ontario;
* Must have satisfactory performance record;
*Must provide Criminal Records Check in good standing from within the past 12 months;
* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;
* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
