DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Staffing/Scheduling and Workforce Planning, this position acts as a Supervisor, with regard to the completion of all scheduling related activities in the CSST. The Supervisor, Staffing/Scheduling and Workforce Planning provides primary support to the CSST, is responsible for completeness and timeliness of staff scheduling services, and also provides support to managers as required in support of the CSST. This position supports the Manager, Staffing/Scheduling and Workforce Planning in managing staff performance by providing input into performance plans or providing information regarding concerns that may require disciplinary action, when required.
In this role you:
- Are responsible for the appropriate daily scheduling and task assignment of CSST staff, ensuring daily and weekly tasks are completed within each scheduling team;
- Provide subject matter expertise with respect to scheduling matters to Managers/designates and to CSST staff regarding all collective agreements, and Lakeridge Health policy and procedures;
- Are responsible for ensuring the correct interpretations are applied by schedulers, Managers and designates.
- Support Managers by providing scheduling reports, records and statistical information;
- Work with Managers to create and maintains up-to- date unit specific guidelines for each unit, ensuring that Department Staffing Guideline information is clear, concise, accurate and up to date;
- Updates scheduling transactions, such as staff internal transfers, new hires, modified return to work, terminations, WCB, ensuring that information is accurate, complete and up- to -date;
- Manage payroll exception reports, identifies errors, and directs appropriate corrective action. Reviews for trends to identify team training needs;
- Acts as the primary contact with Payroll for issues related to time entry data in the staff scheduling system; &
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education required (e.g., Scheduling Clerk Certification, courses related to Business or Health Care diploma/certificate);
- Three years' experience as a scheduler using an automated scheduling and timekeeping system required;
- Three to Five years experience in a customer service environment required;
- Experience working in a Unionized health care environment is preferred;
- Experience dealing face to face with clients is required;
- Must have demonstrated experience resolving complex client issues;
- Experience with Microsoft Office and email required;
- Excellent communication skills is required, both written and verbal; superior active listening and interpretative skills are required;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team and develop a positive rapport with a variety of stakeholders;
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;
