Clerical OpportunitiesPositions available: Unit Clerks, Admitting/Registration Clerks, SecretariesLocations available: Oshawa/Bowmanville/Port Perry/ Whitby/Ajax PickeringStatus: Regular Part Time, Temporary Part Time, Temporary Full TimeUnion: CUPEPosition Summary: While adhering to confidentiality, Clerical staff perform a wide variety of clerical duties such as: maintaining patient charts; facilitating the admission/discharge process; documenting and maintaining a variety of statistical information; answering the telephone and taking accurate messages; inputting documentation into the computer and writing reports; and performing other duties as assigned. Our clerks work in inpatient departments, ambulatory clinics, the Durham Regional Cancer Centre, our Emergency Departments and various other departments across the organization including temporary COVID related clinics.Qualifications: * Medical Office Administration Diploma and previous relevant experience in a Hospital clerical or doctor's office setting or equivalent combination of education and experience;* Proficient keyboarding skills is required;* Proficient with MS Office; Word, Excel, & Outlook programs is required; * Knowledge of Medical Terminology is considered an asset; * Effective verbal and written communication skills required;* Knowledge of EPIC is considered an asset; * Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
