ONALAKERIDGE HEALTHUNIT COORDINATORCRITICAL CARE UNITCORPORATE CRITICAL CARE PROGRAMREGULAR PART-TIME12 HOUR DAY SHIFTS, (Subject to Change)LAKERIDGE HEALTH OSHAWASALARY: $36.06 - $50.96 per hourONA-2100001994DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Unit Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of patient care, coordination of nursing staff and resources on all shifts, facilitating patient flow, maintaining data accountability and acting as a steward for developing and facilitating the family-centered care approach with the Critical Care unit. QUALIFICATION:* Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);* Current BCLS; ACLS with Medical Directives, required;* Recent & related Charge Nurse Experience required (must be within the last 2-3 years);* Proven experience with staff scheduling (ONA and CUPE), patient flow and patient assignments;* Successful completion of a Critical Care Certificate, required; * Significant recent (within one year) experience in a critical care/intensive care/cardiopulmonary unit;* Successful completion of IV Start Certification and Cardiac Monitoring course;* Demonstrated ventilator and haemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation skills;* Proven cardiac rhythm and patient assessment skills;* Certification in defibrillation, preferred;* Demonstrated epidural/PCA pain management skills, preferred;* Demonstrated leadership, teaching and mentorship skills;* Effective organizational; planning; prioritization and time management skills;* Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple competing demands with ability to maintain composure in stressful situations;* Demonstrated problem solving; critical thinking and decision making skills;* Effective communication and interpersonal skills that enables you to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community;* Proven ability to work well independently;* Ability to advocate for quality based patient outcomes within an interdisciplinary team environment;* B.Sc.N, preferred;* Must have satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;* Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions; and* Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
