CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHOCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST/PHYSIOTHERAPIST ASSISTANT CC & REHABPOST ACUTE SPECIALTY SERVICESTEMPORARY FULL TIMEThe current schedule is Evenings/Weekends Schedule - 8 hours shifts; subject to changeLakeridge Health Ajax/PickeringSALARY: $29.76 - $31.42 per hourCUPE-2100000481DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Patient Care Manager of Inpatient/Outpatient Allied Health Staff the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering patient care in a multidisciplinary patient-centred care environment for the surgical population. This position assists the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist with direct patient care activ ities such as implementing exercise programs, facilitating activities of daily living and mobilizing patients as assigned. As part of the Corporate Rehabilitation Services, the PTA/OTA may be required to work in other areas and perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:*Completion of Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist Assistant diploma/certificate program;*Acute Care Inpatient experience required;*Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, psychological sciences;*Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and apply critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills;*Demonstrated ability to apply modalities safely and appropriately;*Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations;*Demonstrated good communication, documentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients,families, all levels of staff and the community;*Ability to collaborate with inter-professional healthcare teams and involving team members in patient treatment as required;*Physically able to meet the demands of a busy area including lifting, bending, reaching and standing for extended periods;*Demonstrated pattern of good attendance;*Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;*Must have a satisfactory performance record;*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and*Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
