This opportunity is currently open to Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse and Regulated Health Professionals with competency to administer vaccines under a medical directive and who demonstrate compassion and excellence in their work. Clinic location(s) are to be determined and will be located in the community and within Lakeridge Health sites.This position is open to all qualified internal candidates, however operational needs will be considered.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:* Support large-scale immunization program in response to Covid -19 Pandemic;* Safely administer vaccine according to standardized protocol;* Prepares vaccine doses for administration;* Record details of the vaccine dose and lot number within an electronic system;* Respond to patient queries and concerns in a professional, respectful and courteous way;* Provide education related to after care for immunizations;* Work with the site supervisor to maximize the efficiency of the immunization areas;* Identify and respond to adverse reactions and events;* Perform other duties as required; and* PPE must be worn at all times (training and relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided).QUALIFICATIONS:* Must be a Health Care Professional with authorization to perform the controlled act of administering a substance by injection through the RHPA or through delegation;* Regulated Health professions must be registered in good standing to practice in Ontario with a Health Regulatory College (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario)* BCLS certification required;* Competency to administer vaccines under a medical directive;* IM injection experience required;* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills;* Effective verbal communication skills;* Collaborative and works well within a team environment;* Effective at problem solving and is detail oriented;* Effective subjective and physical assessment skills to monitor for adverse reaction; * Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions; * Must have a satisfactory performance record; and* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Lakeridge Health is committed to providing a safe and healthy work enviornment and to preventing the transmission of COVID 19 infections among Lakeridge Health team members and our patients.
