CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHREGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSEONCOLOGY/NEPHROLOGY (OC6)MEDICINETEMPORARY PART TIMEDays, Evenings, Nights, and Weekend Schedule; 8 & 12 hour shifts (Subject to change)Lakeridge Health OshawaSALARY: $29.76 - $31.42 per hourCUPE-2000002415 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:According to the updated standards and current scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the policies of Lakeridge Health, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients whose conditions are stabilized; administer treatments as ordered by physicians and assigned by Patient Care Manager or Patient Care Specialist; observe and enforce infection control principles and aseptic techniques required; and other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:* Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college* Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;* Current B.C.L.S.;* Knowledge and experience caring for Nephrology patients, preferred; * Proven related and effective experience in an Oncology Unit or similar environment and evidence of continuing education courses related to the requirements of position;* Current certificate in Medication Administration;* Updated nursing skills including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment courses;* Demonstrated problem-solving and teaching skills;* Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills;* Proven sound judgement, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy;* Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignments in a reasonable length of time;* Demonstrated adherence and support to the customer focus/patient centred philosophy;* Ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;* Ability to lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;* Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario;* Demonstrated ability to work at full scope of practice according to the CNO guidelines; * Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions;* Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard, and;* Must have a satisfactory performance record.
