CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHSECRETARYCOMMUNITY RESPIRATORY SERVICESTEMPORARY PART TIME (Up to 12 months)Days/Evenings/Weekend schedule; 8 & 10 Hour shifts (subject to change)COURTICE CLINICSALARY: $24.62 - $25.74 per hourCUPE -2000002139DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Secretary will provide a wide range of clerical duties in support of operations of Community Respiratory Services (CRS). The primary function is to assist the Home Oxygen and CPAP patients in the store and over the phone. The Secretary is also responsible for booking client appointments and preparing ministry of health forms and applications.Provide excellent customer service for all clients for the Home Oxygen Program and in the CPAP store; Answer the telephone and take accurate messages; Transcribe Physician orders; Schedule client therapy appointments; Prepare and process client charts; Registration and discharge of clients; Process invoices, point of sale transactions and daily remittance records; Accurate preparation and file application forms with the Ministry of Health and the Assistive Devices Program; Accurately track the application forms to and from the Ministry of Health and the Assistive Devices Program; Document and maintain a variety of statistical information for the business; Follow inventory control processes; Responsible for inputting Plexxus order, Grand and Toy orders and warranty returns; Required to exchange portable oxygen cylinders for clients and assist them to their car; Adhering to all the policies and procedure of Community Respiratory Services; Additional duties as assigned in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement. QUALIFICATIONS: * Medical Office Administration Diploma and previous relevant experience in a hospital, clerical, or doctor's office setting or equivalent combination of education and experience;* Knowledge of medical terminology (tested);* Excellent keyboarding skills (tested - 50 wpm);* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level (tested);* Knowledge of booking/scheduling procedures;* Proficient in the use of Meditech modules including admissions, CWS and OE required;* Skills in all Microsoft Office Suite applications an asset;* Effective communication and interpersonal skills;* Knowledge of home oxygen assistive devices programs with ministry of health and long term care an asset;* Ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;* Ability to work productively in a busy environment with frequent distractions and interruptions;* Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an interprofessional team.* Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and complete in a details-oriented and accurate manner;* Physically capable of reaching, pulling, bending, walking, lifting and carrying oxygen equipment in the store and to the customers car up to 15lbs.;* Must have satisfactory performance record;* Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;* Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area; and,* Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
