CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHHVAC TECHNICIANENGINEERING AND INFRASTRUCTUREFULL-TIMELakeridge Health OshawaCurrent Schedule is Days; 8 Hour Shifts; Overtime/Call-Back as required (Subject to change)CUPE-1900001426Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Manager, the incumbent supports internal customers by performing a variety of tasks related to the operation, maintenance and installation of heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, exhaust, humidification and control systems. Safely operate, maintain and repair mechanical systems and equipment related to heating, cooling, ventilating, humidifying, refrigeration and building automation controls systems. Equipment to be maintained includes refrigerator systems and its ancillary systems such as condenser units, cooling towers, pumps and valves, roof top units, air handling units, fan coil units, variable air volume units (VAVs), small refrigeration units and varied sizes of air compressors. Depending on Lakeridge Health's needs, the incumbent will be required to travel between sites to perform their duties.Qualifications:" Ontario Ministry of Skills and Development Certificate of Qualifications as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (License 313A);" Current valid ODP Certification;" Gas Technician license (G1);" At least 5 years post qualification experience in a commercial or institutional setting in HVAC repair and maintenance, previous healthcare environment preferred;" Ability to work with CFC and HFC refrigerants;" Tests, maintains and evaluates equipment by using instrumentation tools;" Understanding and operation of the BAS system;" Inventory control, ordering parts, coordinate and oversee contractor trades;" Timely completion and closing of work orders in the preventative maintenance system;" Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally to ensure solid client service working relationships;" Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction within a team environment;" Physically capable of bending, stooping, crawling, walking, climbing stairs, pushing and lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds;" Performs other related duties as assigned, including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required and where work does not exceed the incumbent's own limitations;" Valid G-Class Driver's License;" Must have satisfactory performance record;" Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;" Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and," Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and the capability of maintaining that same standard.Salary : $31.84 - $32.31 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364 (Clerical Bargaining Unit).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
