We are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced Biomedical Technologist to join our team. In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise to help us develop, implement and maintain innovative Clinical Engineering practices that will meet the current and future needs of Lakeridge Health.

The Biomedical Technologist will be primarily responsible for providing a variety of technical duties in the daily support of our Regional Biomedical Engineering program and other equipment as required. As the Biomedical Technologist you'll have knowledge of appropriate government CSA or equivalent and medical practice standards for biomedical equipment. The Biomedical Technologist will participate and assist in educational and awareness promotions/material, maintenance and service, clinical support which requires providing own transportation to various sites and other duties as assigned.

" Completion of a recognized three year Biomedical Engineering technology program or an equivalent Electronics Technology program as well as completion of a one year Biomedical Engineering certificate;
" Proficient with Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, Outlook;
" Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult education and producing educational and technical material;
" Proven knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System);
" Corroborated ability to work independently and as a strong team member with excellent interpersonal and communication skills within a client and patient focused environment;
" Physically capable of performing duties including: extensive walking and climbing of stairs with extended periods of standing, lifting and bending;
" Excellent communication (presentation, written and verbal), critical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
" Proven ability to act as a resource to multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and with internal/external clients and stakeholders;
" Demonstrated Biomedical equipment or equivalent knowledge and experience of Lab equipment, anaesthesia gas machines, ventilators and patient monitors, preferably in a health care setting;
" Must have a satisfactory performance record;

" Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and
" Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard;

SALARY: $31.87 - $42.71 per hour
