The successful candidate has training and experience in providing assessment and treatment to individuals who have traumatic and complex histories through both individual and group therapeutic modalities. The Psychologist participates collaboratively in discharge planning and case consultation with other health care providers in the program and in the community. The successful candidate participates in professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competence. Participates in program planning, development and is proficient in outcome evaluation of clinical services.QUALIFICATIONS:*Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology with competency in adult Clinical Psychology;*Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario is mandatory for this position;*Experience appropriate to an acute care hospital setting;*Proven ability to work effectively with clients with concurrent disorders and other comorbities;*Substantial training and experience in trauma processing and experience working with survivors of trauma;*Excellent psychological assessment and diagnostic skills;*Excellent skills in individual and group psychotherapy;*Experience in community mental health settings;*Proficiency in short-term treatment modalities an asset;*Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team;*Advanced communication, interpersonal and organizational skills both verbal and written;*Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act of Ontario and other relevant legislation;*At least 5 years of clinical experience in assessment and treatment of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral problems;*Substantial training and experience in group psychotherapy;*Supervisory experience with interns and other clinical staff;*Committed to client-focused philosophy;*Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area; and*Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.Asset:Experience in clinical research and program evaluationSALARY: $56.078- $61.096 per hourCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
