CUPELAKERIDGE HEALTHREGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE2 NORTH REHABPOST ACUTE CARE CASUAL12 Hour; Days, Nights, and Weekends (subject to change)Lakeridge Health Ajax/PickeringCUPE 1900000556 This position is open to CUPE staff throughout the Lakeridge Health Corporation commencing March 5, 2019 and closing at 11:59 pm on March 12, 2019.Reporting to the Manager of Transitional Restorative Care unit, the Registered Practical Nurse will be responsible for patient care, treatment and medication. Working alongside unregulated health care providers, the duties include vital signs, physical assessment, administration of meds, IV monitoring, other patient care duties as assigned.Qualifications:*Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college;*Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;*Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification based on the Ontario Heart and Stroke Standards; *Certification in Medication Administration from a recognized institution; *Physical Assessment and Asepsis course from a recognized institution; *Current related experience in gerontology, senior friendly care and dementia; *Familiar with GPA and Montessori; *Current adult Medical/Surgical experience; *Strong problem solving skills; *Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage a busy and varied caseload; *Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations; *Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community; *Demonstrated physical ability to perform nursing and related duties;*Ability to perform the essential duties of the position; *Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Compassion, Innovation, Courage and Trust;*Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public; *Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this are; and*Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record.SALARY: $28.82 - $30.42CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health.The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364 (Service Bargaining Unit).Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under Lakeridge Health's Employment Accommodation policy.
